#RLTCProject100 - Peloton To Wimbledon
Spende geschützt
Rutherglen Lawn Tennis Club will be one hundred years old in 2022: https://www.rutherglenltc.com/project100/
#RLTCProject100 is about celebrating this centenary and, more importantly, readying the club to play an even greater role within the local community and wider Scottish tennis community. It’s about securing a strong and healthy future for our club for the next century and beyond and comprises three key elements:
1. Covered tennis courts in Overtoun Park, Rutherglen to meet the needs of all; young and old, novice to elite, getting more people playing tennis more often – rain, hail or shine!
2. A new Viewpark Clubhouse - the recent growth and success of our club has presented us with a problem. Our small, ageing clubhouse at our Viewpark facility is no longer fit for purpose.
3. Centenary Celebrations - a year of celebrations including a summer ball and hopefully the opening of our new Viewpark Clubhouse and Overtoun Covered Courts.
We want to embark on a challenge that will raise lots of money to help deliver this project, raise its profile as high as we can to give us the best chance of success and match the ambition of the project itself.
We’ve assembled a hugely committed (and clearly mad!) team who are going to attempt to cycle more than 700km (!!) from Rutherglen to Wimbledon, arriving for the start of play on Day 1 of the Championships on Monday 28th June 2021. Check out our route... not for the faint-hearted!
The peloton consists of Gareth Ellor, Jonny Wilcox, Cedric Decuyper, Pete Gilpin, Graeme Lees, Graeme Mackie, Dan Maroni, Jonathan Arthur, Lenny Pritchard, Craig Degnan and Chris Rodgers. The team will be assisted by a support vehicle, kindly driven by Chris Nelson and David Archibald.
Large or small, any donations will be extremely welcome and will make a huge difference to this project.

In addition to supporting #RLTCProject100, the money raised from #PelotonToWimbledon will be used to fund Breakfast Clubs at two local Primary Schools (Bankhead and St Columbkille’s) to help ensure all children get a nutritious start to their school day. These Breakfast Clubs are delivered by the Greggs Foundation and the money we raise will fund these clubs for at least the next two years. Beyond this we hope to establish a long-term relationship with these schools and the Greggs Foundation to this support this great cause into the future.
