Help Felix and family with their overwhelming medical bills

This is my dear friend, Felix Rivera. He's waiting for a Kidney Donor- and already he's in the hospital dealing with serious complications leading into getting dialysis. Medical bills are already outrunning their ability to pay even after their insurance pays it's part. Their journey is just beginning and they face incredible monetary challenges that lay before them.

Even in the moment that they're praying for, when the call comes that a kidney has been found- Felix and his wife Day will be asked to remain nearby to the Hospital for weeks which is well beyond what most any of us could ever pay for. So I ask you for your help. Please help them get through battle and relieve them of some of the stress that's already taking it's toll.

I’m 54 and as someone who has been an athlete all my life, never broken a bone, never smoked, never been drunk, asking for help to save my life is difficult.

I'm an only child. I'm a loyal person who has lived a relatively “boring”, normal life. I've worked in the entertainment industry for over 30 years and for the past 20 years, I’ve worked for Walt Disney World as the Manager for Disney's Fine Art and Photography. I'm married and I have a wonderful family. Becoming a photographer was a way for me to connect with people allowing me to hide behind the camera, while being in the middle of the action. Who knew that it would provide me with a career that's allowed me to photograph families and Brides and Weddings as they celebrated the happiest days of their lives. It gives me a great deal of joy when someone is proud to hang a photo of mine on their wall.

I've always wanted to travel but it was impossible when I was younger. I finally had the opportunity to travel to Italy & Greece with my wife and I hoped it was to be the beginning of being able to see much more of the world.

Having CKD has stopped my ability to do many of the things that I took for granted when I was younger. Being able to participate in sports or to be a photographer and to travel. When you can’t rely on your body to do the simple things in life, it can be very difficult to get by. Finding a living donor would allow me to live the rest of my life with my family and loved ones and I hope to be able to resume doing the things that I had planned.

Now, as I wait and pray for a kidney donor, I find myself already in the hospital with complications and I know that my medical bills will be much more than I can afford. So I need your help. Anything you can do will certainly be greatly appreciated!
