HELP KITTY EAT WITHOUT PAIN

Hi everyone, this is Susan, Jenn and Laurie with Redfox’s Animal Rescue. After many, many years of rescuing cats and dogs and finding them homes, we are going to be closing our doors. We found homes for the remaining animals that were still in our care and a few we were able to get into foster homes. One of them in foster care is a sweet cat named Melvin. Melvin is about 10 years old and no one has wanted him due to no fault of his own. He is a great cat! Melvin had stopped eating and we had to force feed him liquids to get something into him. It is very painful for him, even if on occasion, he did lick up the liquid on his own. We took him to the vet and were told that his mouth disease had come back and that the rest of his teeth needed to be removed. The last vet did not do a good job and left pieces of his teeth behind which now must be corrected as well. Just the teeth surgery is $1200 plus $300-$500 to remove the partial teeth which were left behind. The cost for required x-rays, pre-op blood work, and post-op is going to run another $300-$500. And then the special food he has to be on for six weeks after surgery. Just last week he stopped eating again and had to be taken to the vet. That was another expense and sure there will be more appointments after the surgery. They gave him only a partial steroid injection because of his surgery coming up soon so who knows how long that will last. We are begging for donations to help us help sweet Melvin.
