My best guy Lemmy needs vet orthopaedic surgery on his leg

i really hate doing this. But I am hopelessly desperate.

Hi, my name is Mindy and I am desperately seeking help to cover the costs for my poor boy Lemmy’s cat orthopaedic vet surgery.

My poor cat got caught by his foot in our fence at about 3am. Luckily I was up craving chocolate at that time so heard the commotion and got there quickly, thank god. However he has still managed to do a massive amount of damage to all his ligaments and completely dislocate the bone.

The images above are of the damage. The ones with the R are the damages leg and the one with the L is for comparison.

Lemmy has been with me through a really hard pregnancy, is a best friend to my son, and has been my emotional support partner as I finally left my DV marriage of years. I love this boy more than anything. He is absolutely part of the family.

My son is devastated about the situation as they grew up together. We all love him so much and I am totally at a loss what to do. I feel useless as a pet owner and as a mother, seeing my children in so much pain.

So although I am extremely embarrassed, I thought I’d ask here. I know there are so very many good causes on this platform, but I am desperate for money.

As I am on a disability pension, I can’t get a loan. So my options are extremely limited.

Please, if you can help, I can’t tell you what it would mean to my family. I have already used all my savings on his first vet appointment that was over $1200, just to get the X-rays and the diagnosis. Now we need another $6500 to have the surgery to try and fix it. This will only cover the surgery, and not the ongoing care costs. But I am doing one thing at a time.

i know times are tough for everyone, but anything you can spare $10, $20, $50, it all helps so very much.
