Long Road to Recovery

My name is Carmela Graham, as the world has heard, New Orleans has had a terrorist attack on 1/1/2025 at 3:15am.
Unfortunately, my son Emile (Luui), age 23, is a victim of those 35 injured.
We received a call from a wonderful woman who saved my son’s life. We were informed that he was involved in a vehicular accident but had no idea to what extent. He was found lying in the road bleeding out. She saved his life by using a tourniquet and keeping him awake until EMS got to him.
Upon arriving to the hospital we soon learned that this was no normal car accident. We were dealing with a mass attack on our city. After hours of waiting and having to identify him solely through tattoos, we finally got to see him. He suffered 2 lower right ribs fractures, a fractured pelvis, broken clavicle and both legs have multiple breaks. The right femur broke through his femoral artery, which would have lead to death if it weren’t for the woman who saved him.
On 1/2/2025, he had his first surgery, which lasted 7 1/2 hours. They put rods and pins in his left leg, but the right one was the worst because it sustained the most impacted damage. They did the femur only because the tibia was too swollen to successfully operate. He will be undergoing another surgery in 2 weeks for the leg along with his clavicle.
We have a long road ahead of us with surgeries, physical therapy, and hospital bills. He will be needing new equipment at home to provide for his new needs, as we move along with the healing process. This includes a medical grade bed, wheelchair, shower accessories, and other medical needs.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated. This has been an extremely hard time and my heart goes out to everyone involved in this attack on our city. Thank you so much
