Rachel Raising Nine Children Four Cheryl's Memory : Purchase HOMEFIRE for family
Rachel is a mother of five children Mya 13, Noah 8, Trae 6, Leah 3 and Millie 1.
Rachel's mother passed when she was quite young and she was raised by family members until she was 14. Rachel knew all to well what could happen with her sister's children if they were lost in the system. Rachel expierenced first hand what it was like to be a permanent ward of the government. So when late Cheryl Kay passed away she knew that she had to do what her sister had asked her to do and that was to take on her children.
It was a year ago at Saskatoon Powwow that late Cheryl approached Rachel's adopted mother M-Rae to tobacco her and ask her to take on all six of her children if anything should happen to her. Late Cheryl custom adopted M-Rae about twelve years ago and would powwow together so that was her reason for asking M-Rae. She indicated that she wanted her children raised in ceremony and powwow and did not know who else she could ask. It was at this time M-Rae asked late Cheryl to ask her sister Rachel if she could be the guardian if anything happened and so that's what she did. It was like she knew something might happen and she ensured that her children would be well taken care of.
Late Cheryl Kay was 36 when passed away suddenly on December 24, 2020 in Regina, SK from water intoxication. Late Cheryl leaves behind 6 beautiful children. Dream 2, Skyler 4, Chayzen 9, Kihew 10, Goodwind 13 andTyrra 17 . We were deeply saddened by the passing of Cheryl Kay on Christmas Eve. Her children did not have their mother for Christmas but through fundraising on this site the children had Christmas presents and dinner. Late Cheryl will be missed by many people as she touched a lot of lives. She loved her Pow-wow and was passionate about her tradition and loved to be creative. Late Cheryl had a smile that would light up any room. She was beautiful inside and out and she cared deeply for her children so prior to her death she chose carefully who would have her children.
