ART - survive and thrive

This is my story. I am moving to Captains Flat with Bandit. My art is moving too.
I have put my art practice on hold for the last year to renovate an old caravan and buy a small block of land in Captains Flat. After nearly 30 years of group house living I moved to my studio 5 years ago to save a deposit for a place of my own. And now the time has come! The project has begun! To start making art in Captains Flat.
I have designed a small 40 square meter house to be built by a fab and affordable Canberra company called Eco villa. A supportive friend has lent me the money for a 75m2 shed for my new studio.
In the mean time I’ll be commuting from my caravan while shed-building is happening at the Flat.
I have done my best to keep costs down in order to keep my art practice alive and continue working three days a week so that I can spend the other four days making art. The next stage will be very interesting. I can’t wait!
I am trying to raise $14,000 to help cover costs for the project and to relocate my studio.
My best friend Bandit the Border Collie x Maremma will finally have her own garden. Bandit has just turned nine and needs to retire from chasing things as she has arthritis and needs to see the vet regularly these days.
I appreciate and value your interest in our story and I’ll keep you posted on how it’s developing and what Bandit thinks about relocating territory. I will post the build progression and the tea’s on me if you come to visit Captains Flat.
