Rally for Randy (Part 2)

Dear Friends and Family,As many of you know, I continue to fight prostate cancer. What you might not know, is that I have been deeply inspired in this fight by my younger brother Randy.
In 2008, he was diagnosed with ALS, or Lou Gehrig's disease. At first, he didn't want to admit or accept the diagnosis and did not want to share the news with anyone. Eventually, he and his wife Heidi told their two daughters, Hayley and Sydney, the rest of our family, and his friends.
Randy has always been a strong man, determined, with a stubborn streak, and the hardest working person I know. I believe it is these characteristics that have kept him fighting these past 9 years. Although he would never admit it, I know that he is scared, depressed, and sometimes angry as he continues the daily struggle to cope and live with ALS.
As time passes, his muscles have weakened. He has lost his ability to use his hands and arms. He can no longer walk or stand. He can can no longer eat solid foods. He received a feeding tube over a year ago. He is now confined to a wheel chair and requires 24-hour care.
Randy's main wish as his disease progresses is to be able to stay in his home as long as possible. In order for this to happen, major expensive changes to his house have occurred, making it wheelchair accessible, along with the installation of a small elevator, and renovations to his bathroom and shower.
Because of his recent divorce, my sisters, mom, and Randy’s daughter, Hayley, continue to provide care. We have also hired several in-home aides who provide most of the 24 hour care.
Randy's sources of income are limited and not sufficient to cover his current and future expenses. He does not want to be a burden on anyone. He is thankful for the previous 2016 GoFundMe campaign that raised $10,000. That money was used to purchase a motorized wheelchair, a wheelchair van, renovations to his house, a hospital bed, a breathing machine, a voice-assistance machine, and helped pay for professional in-home caregivers.
Randy is a fighter, but what he needs now is the love and support of family, friends, and caring individuals everywhere. However you can help financially is greatly appreciated. We are thankful and humbled by any small contribution you can make to help Randy's quality of life and assist us with the enormous financial burden our family now faces.
Thank you and God bless.
