Ray's Pool Lift
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Paula and I am trying to help my dear neighbor Ray who is a 71 year old veteran in our community He is in need of a power chair lift to access our community pool. Our HOA Documents will not cover this expense. Ray is looking to spend some quality time with his grandchildren, family & friends and this chair lift will give him the opportunity for "weightless" therapy in our community pool. Ray needs this specialized lift in order to gain entry into the pool. The funds collected will be used to purchase a pool lift, installation, and any additional accessories. My goal is $5,000. for purchase.
Ray proudly served our country with the United States Army for six years. Following the Army, he became a NYC firefighter and served the citizens of New York, until injuries forced him into retirement. At the age of 65, he was inflicted with TRANSVERSE MYELITIS, which left him paralyzed from his armpits down to his toes.
Our community pool is one of the few places where Ray does not feel the impact of his condition. If you have ever met Ray, he looks at life with a smile and a positive attitude. His limited abilities have impacted the quality of time he is able to spend with his wife, grandchildren and friends.
Ray has stated many times the feeling of being out of his wheelchair and being able to simply float in the water brings life back into his limited world. Ray has three beautiful grandchildren who visit often, love to use the pool and wish Grandpop could be in with them. Ray loves watching them in the pool and the thought of joining them, even with his restriced capacity, brings such joy into his life! I would be ever so grateful for your help as we work to accomplish this goal for Ray and his family.
