RePET - iGEM Madrid 2024 - Plastic revalorization

Welcome to RePET! We are a young scientific entrepreneurship initiative created by UCM students committed to synthetic biology research and developing new sustainable production technologies based on bacterial metabolism to pursue innovative solutions to global challenges.

In our current project, we focus on the biosynthesis of environmentally compatible plastics from the products of the biodegradation of polluting plastics, using biology and engineering to address the issue of plastic pollution in our environment.

One of our main objectives is to represent Madrid in iGEM, the largest international synthetic biology competition, where we will compete by presenting this project.

At RePET we are proud to be a women-led multidisciplinary team, with broad backgrounds in Biology, Biochemistry, Engineering and Design, which aims to find innovative solutions to address the challenges of the ecological transition.

To take advantage of this great opportunity, we need your collaboration.
