In memory of our loving Robert "Butch" Recto

Hi, my name is Jacquelene - I am the eldest niece of Butch, I am starting this GoFundMe in honor of my beloved Uncle, who brought joy and laughter to all who knew him.

My Uncle Butch was a man of many passions, including golf, fishing and even dancing! He was always the life of the party anywhere he would go. He moved to Florida for this reason, to seek the sunshine and ocean, where he could live his days doing the things he loved most.

My Uncle unexpectedly passed away this past Monday, March 25th, 2024. He was a cherished son of Claro and the late Sylvia Recto, dear brother to Monette (Rick) Bennington, John (Cathy) Recto, Jasper (Rachel) Recto, loving Grandfather to Gianni, fond Uncle of Jacquelene, Andrew, Brandon, Emerson and Avery, great uncle to Jae and friend to many.

He leaves behind his loving wife Diane, whom he married in 2016 and had spent 16 wonderful years together with. He also leaves behind his children whom he loved very dearly, Tawni and Angelo, as well as his stepchildren, Cayette, Bernadette, Bernard and Angela. He is preceded in death by his eldest daughter Ashleigh, who we lost in December of '22 and our Lola Sylvia who left this world in March of '22.

Despite facing many challenges after suffering a stroke last year, (which includes losing his job and health insurance), my uncle remained resilient, always maintaining his infectious smile and love for life. Unfortunately, when we lost our beloved uncle, grandpa, father, brother and son - he was without insurance.

In his memory, we are coming together to support the family during this difficult time. Any contribution, big or small, will make a meaningful difference in helping cover the expenses associated with his unexpected passing and honoring his legacy of love and laughter.

If you would like to attend his service, the Instate will be held on 4/5/25 at 10:30AM with the Mass immediately following at 11AM. It will be at St.John Neumann Church (44800 Warren Rd.) in Canton, MI.
