Remembering a great man - Cordell Good Shield
This is a page to celebrate the life of Cordell Good Shield and support his wife and kids in any way possible. With this, I am setting up a Go Fund Me page in case you were unable to make it to any of the services held July 16th or 17th and would like to help the family with any financial expenses.
Additionally, I'd also like to share that I created a gmail to collect any and all pictures, videos, or stories you may have that you'd like to share with his family. I felt this will be great to share with his 2 kids, Dwayne and Sarina, so they understand how many people he had in his life and the greatness in which he lived his life.
Please send all pictures, videos, or stories to you have to [email redacted]
Cordell was born at Ellsworth A.F.B. SD on December 10th, 1991. He was the oldest son to Del and Val Good Shield.
Cordell as a young person grew up loving to fish and playing baseball with his dad. Every day he would put on his aqua shoes, beaded baseball hat and baseball glove. Which grew to a bigger love of baseball. As he grew up he lived two years in Rapid City, SD, lived four years in Martin, SD, and the love for baseball grew. He moved to Lower Brule for the next four years, and then in 2004 he moved to Mobridge in his 7th grade year of school. Cordell started to play football and more baseball. He loved baseball, sports, fishing, family, and being a great son and big brother, to Sam, Chad, and Rocky. Cordell graduated from Mobridge-Pollock High School on May 24th, 2010. That same say he headed out for Marine Corp Boot Camp. He was in the Marines from 2010-2016.
In January 2011, Cordell moved to Brookings and attended SDSU for college for a few years. Cordell decided college wasn’t for him, so he decided to stay in Brookings and work for a few more years. In 2017, Cordell met Tosha Long Fox and later moved to Sioux Falls and worked. Cordell and Tosha then moved to her hometown of Onida, SD. Cordell worked at CHS there in Onida. While enjoying his life with Tosha, they expanded their family, when they brought their son, Dwayne P. Good Shield into the world on December 4th, 2019. Then another great blessing was the announcement that they had a beautiful baby girl, Sarina Diane Rose Good Shield, on October 27th, 2020. Cordell and Tosha got married on July 12th, 2020. As they enjoyed their life, they moved to the Mobridge / Selby area and Cordell started working as an officer for the Mobridge P.D. until his passing.
Cordell had the wonderful life that he had always wanted. His beautiful wife Tosha, and having two special, loving children, Dwayne and Sarina. Cordell was the type of man that always wanted to take care of everyone. Cordell loved being a husband and was the best at being a new dad. Cordell also found his peace with being a police officer. Cordell had a contagious smile and always lit up when he saw his kids.
Cordell is survived by his wife Tosha Good Shield, children Dwayne Good Shield, (1.5 years), and Sarina Good Shield, (9 months old).
