Rich Archuleta is a doting husband and father of two beautiful, strong teenagers. His fight started back in November of 2013 when he noticed shooting pain through his shoulders. He found out on his 50th birthday that his right upper arm was broken. Further x-rays and testing discovered that his left forearm, which was in serious pain, was also broken. MRI’s discovered tumors had caused the breaks – Multiple Myeloma. Stanford Dr. miraculously removed the tumors, repaired and saved both arms.
While recovering from the surgeries he started chemo to treat the myeloma throughout his skeleton. In the summer he did an auto-stem cell transplant. This valiant fight worked for just a short period of time. In April 2015, it aggressively came back. Fortunately, his beautiful sister was a bone marrow match and he is now undergoing more chemo, immune-suppression and a transplant of her life saving cells.
Rich has always been a giving member of the community, through Church, Knights of Columbus, and all the chairs sat in leading up to his Governorship at the Auburn Moose Lodge. Unfortunately, he is now at a point where he and family could use some help. Co-pays, deductibles, travel expenses and special needs are adding up while income is going down.
Rich puts family, friends and community first. He is grateful for every day given, every prayer offered and every kind thought towards his recovery. When he realized the financial challenges ahead, he, of course, wanted to put together a benefit Giants outing or golf tournament….but for now, that will have to wait. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
