Road to the Rugby World Cup
Donation protected
I am cycling from Stow-on-the-Wold RFC to the Stade Velodrome in Marseille for England's first world cup game against Argentina on the 9th of September. I am doing this 1000-mile journey in aid of the MND association and the 4ED campaign.
Motor Neurone Disease, which has been brought into sharper focus in the rugby community by the diagnosis of Doddie Weir and Rob Burrow, is a condition that affects the brain and nerves and at this point, is classed as a terminal illness. The association aims to fund research alongside providing care and support to those diagnosed with MND.
Furthermore, I am also raising funds for the 4ED Campaign. This is in aid of Ed Slater, a former Gloucester Rugby player, who was diagnosed with the disease in July of 2022. The campaign provides support to himself and his family.
I will be donating half of what I raise on this page to the MND association and the other half to the 4ED campaign.
