Medical Care Following Brain Surgery

Hi, I'm Lynn, the mother of 16-year-old Robert Lane. Robert had been hospitalized for nearly three months and was just recently released into outpatient care In Phoenix, AZ.
Robert suffered a hemorrhage while attending the firefighter academy college credit course at his local high school. This was due to a rare life-threatening genetic condition called arteriovenous malformation (AVM), which is a tangle of blood vessels that irregularly connect arteries and veins, disrupting blood flow and oxygen circulation. To complicate matters more, the AVM was connected to a feeding aneurism and both were located in the brain stem area.
After a month of being hospitalized, Robert was medically care flighted from our home in Dallas on February 22, 2023, to receive a specialized dangerous life-saving brain surgery at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix. I can't even begin to tell you how grateful I am for so many medical staff at Barrow for providing world-class medical care and saving my son's life, especially Dr. Lawton, president and CEO of Barrow, the main surgeon for my son, along with Dr. White who assisted him with the over 10-hour-long surgery.
I also want to thank The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Phoenix who have supported us since we've been here, for without them, we would not have been able to afford a place to stay for this long.
With all the care and support we have received so far, we are still a long way off from being able to meet our financial obligations for his medicines, medical treatment, local transportation expenses, the cost of transporting Robert home back to Dallas when the time comes, and other costs associated with Roberts care. Medical therapies are also expected to last far into the future and there are still so many unknown medical treatments and modified physical and educational needs he will be facing. Even with medical insurance, there are still so many out-of-pocket expenses that we are continuing to face on a daily basis.
Our small but mighty congregation back in Texas, the North Colony Church of Christ, has been a solid rock for us, even long distance, so I want to say a special thank you to them as well, and for their special gofundme fundraising efforts on Roberts behalf, which in the end, raised over $3,000!
While it may not seem like very much to you in the grand scheme of things, every bit helps and makes so much difference to us and we pray to God thanking him for what he has bestowed on us already, in the form of financial support and his miraculous healing power.
Please keep Robert in your thoughts and prayers, and if you can contribute anything to help with expenses, we would be very grateful. With
your help, we can focus on the well-being of Robert and his continued fight to get better.
