Repair Our Vandalized RockFire Sculptures

Donation protected
RockFire, a beloved and staple event in Barre, raises funds for the Barre Town Forest while supporting local artists and the community. In 2018 proceeds from RockFire helped to finance an installation of "The Temple of Hephaestus," atop the Grand Lookout with historic 12-foot columns flanking a bust created by artisan Chris Miller.

In June of this year, vandals destroyed the installation, causing thousands of dollars of damage and much heartache just two weeks before our 12th annual RockFire. Our beloved centerpiece will be in ruins for 2023, but we're hopeful to raise enough funds this year to repair and restore the damage caused.

Our request has been increased to $5,000 to help to cover crane and labor costs to upright columns, and to start repair on two columns and Haephestus's nose. Unfortunately, we expect the repair costs, labor and sculpture work to be even more extensive. If additional monies are raised they will fund a complete restoration of the columns and bust, and permanently securing artworks which could cost up to $10,000.
