Justice for Rodrick HELP WITH LEGAL FEES

Our Son / brothers’ name is Rodrick Hutchinson Jr. He was a brilliant kid, he is 5 out of 6 children, and he was a senior class of 2023 at Atlantic High School in Port Orange, Fl. He was an honor roll student, he just got accepted through a scholarship to Kansas University (KU) and also just started working at Walmart . On 10/21/2022 he was struck and killed by a vehicle traveling on Big Tree and Old Kings Road in south Daytona beach, FL. A woman whose identity is still unknown hit him as he was crossing the street on the scooter. The police notified Valencia (his older sister.) as she saw the commotion during a walk with the family dog and approached the scene that Rodrick was trying to cross the road and was hit by the driver in a older model unknown champagne colored sedan. The vehicle was believed to be a 2 door but it was possible that i was a 4 door. We as a family have been trying to get the incident report but have not had any luck when asking and calling Daytona Beach Police Dept. We are devastated because an innocent teenager we call apart of our family was riding on an electric scooter and was killed shortly after arriving to the hospital and the police won’t release the suspects name to us for closure.. Rodrick (JR to us) has suffered through family homelessness, family separation, he was just starting his life. The doctors at Halifax Health in Daytona Beach informed us he didnt make it upon the finish of a CAT SCAN however a minor brain surgery and several blood transfusions were preformed but unfortunately to no advance did anything work. Rodrick was pronounced dead after his heart stopped beating on life support at 11:04 PM on October 21, 2022. We are a blended family that is very small. We need the community of Volusia county and Daytona Beach / Port Orange to come together as a community and try to get justice for our brother Rodrick Hutchinson Jr. If you have any information or advice for us, any thing will help.
