Donation protected
My name is Ryan Warren the son of Don &Yuvonka (Shawnte') Davis and Curtis & Trina Warren. I am competing in the 2016 Jabberwock scholarship program sponsored by the Kinston Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.  The program provides participants like me with various cultural, educational, service and social activities as well as the opportunity to showcase our gifts and talents. We will celebrate our growth and development as well as provided the opportunity to win a scholarship with your support and assistance. The theme this year is "Dreams Do Come True."

My Background.

I am a senior at Greene Central High School, and will graduate in June 2016. I plan to attend college in August and have been accepted to eight universities.  I am very blessed to have several options from which to choose.  An important determining factor will be the cost of financing my education, and I really need your support in this competition to help me achieve my life goals.

Serving on the student council, I am a leader among my peers.  I was in the first Los Puentes dual language and STEM classes.  I am in the Future Business Leaders of America and CTE Honor Society.  I was in Army JROTC and a member of the Greene County Suzuki Violin program.   I lettered in football, basketball and baseball.

I am a member of St. James Presbyterian Church, where I serve as an usher.  I have countless volunteer hours and served as a North Carolina Senate Page.

I hope to obtain a degree in business.  Through this program and your support, I am sure I will succeed and continue to help others in the community.

What is a Jabberwock?

The Jabberwock is a pageant for raising funds for scholarships and public service programs that began as an unique activity over 90 years ago.  It is sponsored by local chapters of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and is a nationally sanctioned program of the sorority.  The word “Jabberwock,” copyrighted by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., was taken from Lewis Carroll’s tale, “Alice’s Adventure in Wonderland.”  In the poem, “Jabberwocky,” it was customary for creatures throughout the kingdom to gather annually to present a gala pageant.

Since the first pageant held in Boston, the Jabberwock has come to represent an evening of sophistication and entertainment that showcases young men and women, while advancing the goals and objectives of Delta’s scholarship program.

How can you specifically help me?

Making a donation to my GoFundMe campaign in any amount you are able is much appreciated.   Please help support me to be Mr. Jabberwock by making your contribution today.  Every dollar counts and funds must be submitted by Friday, April 1, 2016.  Thank you for helping me to make my dreams come true.

If you wish to attend the 2016 Jabberwock event to support me, I would love to have you.  The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 7pm.  It will be held at Rochelle Middle School in Kinston, North Carolina.  Again, thank you.
