In loving memory of my older sister and one of my best friends and confidant, Stephanie Rachel Becker, we hope you will join us for our 9th Annual AFSP's Out of the Darkness Community Walk at 10am on Saturday, October 15th, 2022 at Harbor Island Park in Mamaroneck, NY, 10543.

10:00am: Check-in / Opening Ceremony
10:30am: Walk Begins
1pm: Walk Ends / Pizza Lunch at a Nearby Location (short car ride)

The walk is along the beautiful and relaxing waterfront of Harbor Island Park (remember to wear comfortable shoes and a light jacket).

* There are 39,000 deaths by suicide in the US/yr. (The same number as breast cancer)
* There are 600,000 suicide attempts in US/yr (this number is most likely under-reported). There are four times as many suicide attempts as there are breast cancer diagnoses, yet suicide is much less visible and much more stigmatized.
* There are 1mm global deaths by suicide/yr
* 1 in 5 high school students have thought about suicide
* 1 in 10 college kids have thought about suicide
* 1 in 3 people will have a diagnosed DSM illness in their lifetime, resulting in a tremendous loss in employee productivity
