#GIVELOVE TLC Fund Drive
Tax deductible
At Second Chance, we help more than 800 animals every year find forever homes. Some of the animals that come to us need more than just a quick medical check-up. In fact, some of them come to us very sick and require extensive medical work before placement. For example, Whiskers, an FIV positive cutie, came to us with a bum leg that needed to be removed before she was put up for adoption. She's still waiting for her forever home.
Hannah, a middle-aged lab, was adopted and returned for behavior issues, and upon further investigation, we discovered her behavior was related to a serious case of diabetes. We worked for several months with our veterinarians to get her glucose levels under control before she got adopted. She's now happy and healthy in her forever home.
In order to tackle these special medical cases, we fundraise for a special medical fund that we call the TLC FUND. This fund is designated especially for animals with extenuating medical needs. No spay and neuter, no vaccinations, no microchips; this is for the big stuff---the amputations, the extensive surgeries, the long-term health issues. The TLC Fund is saved for those times where cost becomes a significant component in the conversation about whether or not we have the capacity to care for an animal. We don't have that capacity without your financial support. During our #GIVELOVE Campaign, we're asking you to give a little to help out those animals who are going to need a lot. With your help, we can reach our goal of $5,000 for our TLC Fund!
