Operation Sea Monkey
Despite its whimsical name, Operation: Sea Monkey is a very serious, professional expedition into the Canadian wilderness in search of Bigfoot or Sasquatch. Sponsored in part by the American Primate Conservancy, this adventure is set to take place from September 23rd through October 2nd of this year.
Our team of distinguished researchers include: Todd Neiss, Ron Morehead, Thomas Steenburg, Tom Sewid, and Gunnar Monson. They will be joined by internationally recognized cinematographer, Darrin O’Brien, who will document the entire expedition on video.

An Active Duty Soldier in the United States Army, and a Veteran of the Iraq War, Neiss brings over 23 years of Bigfoot research experience and will lead the expedition.
Legendary researcher and adventurer, Ron Morehead, is best known for his incredible vocalizations of purported Bigfoot he recorded in the Sierra Mountains in the early 1970s; known as the “Sierra Sounds.” A published author and international explorer, Ron’s expertise will make him a great addition to the team.
Renowned Canadian researcher, Thomas Steenburg, has investigate over 100 sightings across western Canada. He is a published author of several books including: The Sasquatch in Alberta, Sasquatch/Bigfoot: The Continuing Mystery and In Search of Giants: Bigfoot Sasquatch Encounters.
A First Nation’s bush guide and Bigfoot eyewitness, Tom Sewid is another eye-witness-turned-researcher; having had encounters on these very islands we plan to explore! Tom knows these islands like the back of his hand as he spent over 30 years of his life in and around them. Tom is an avid outdoorsman and an accomplished Native artist.
Gunnar Monson is the co-founder of the Tillamook Forest Research Group based on the northern Oregon coast. He is also the co-host of the popular Monster-X Radio program and owner of the Sasquatch Coffee Company.
Darren O’Brien is an accomplished videographer, writer, director and producer and an avid seaman. Darren has worked for major internationally recognized publications such as “Latitudes & Attitudes” and “The Cruising Outpost” magazines. Darren and his wife live aboard a 48’ trawler in Port Ludlow, Washington, where they produce their own Internet series called, “Pacific Northwest Boater.”
The expedition will depart from Campbell River, on the rugged northeastern shore of Vancouver Island where the team will be picked up by a trawler and taken into the heart of the Broughton Archipelago; a cluster of over more than 30 mostly uninhabited islands, where the they hope to encounter these amazing creatures. The ship will stay on site and deploy two inflatable Zodiaks for them to search for Sasquatch. After six days, the team will board the ships and return to the mainland.
You too can play a part in helping to solve this incredible mystery. Your financial support will go a long ways towards offsetting the expenses of this amazing adventure. However, time is running out! There is less than two weeks before Operation: Sea Monkey commences. Please consider donating whatever you can afford. Thank you!
