Sri Lanka COVID-19 Relief Fund
Tax deductible
The COVID-19 pandemic has devastated Sri Lanka in recent weeks, and the lack of resources has exacerbated the situation on the island. The Sarvodaya Shramadana Movement in Sri Lanka has been leading crucial relief efforts throughout the island since the start of the pandemic, so by raising $100,000, this campaign will aid Sarvodaya's critical initiatives in the following ways:
50% - Emergency Relief: Creating and distributing emergency relief food and hygienic packs for underserved communities
35% - Socio-Economic Revival: Grants for small/local business owners whose businesses are affected due to the pandemic
15% - Intermediate Care Center: Sarvodaya converted their largest training center in Thanamalwila into an intermediate care center to care for those who cannot get care otherwise, either due to economic reasons or hospital incapacities
View Sarvodaya's comprehensive COVID-19 response report here.
Through GoFundMe, the funds will be sent directly to Sarvodaya USA, and they will direct the funds to Sarvodaya in Sri Lanka.
*This campaign has been officially approved and is in coordination with Dr. Vinya Ariyaratne, president of the Sarvodaya Shramadana Movement, and Sachinta Vishwanatha, Communications Coordinator of Sarvodaya USA*
