This is Dutchess.
She is a six year olds German short haired pointer/pit bull and she is the love of my life.
Unfortunately up until a year ago, Dutchess and I were homeless. Along with being homeless for the first 5 years of her life and not having the money to take her to the vet regularly, buy dental treats, better quality food, supplements and my lack of knowledge as a first time dog owner has taken a toll on my dogs health and much sooner than I expected.
On 07/06/2021 I was able to get enough money to take her in for a long over due check up. A quick look in her mouth showed us Dutchess had been silently suffering from Stage 3 Periodontal Disease (advanced stage of the disease). That day two teeth fell out during the exam and he also noticed two more teeth that are in urgent need of being extracted.
A few days later I received a call that we could see the dental specialist on 8/27/2021 and it was going to cost between $1,200-2,400
I tried my best to get as much of the money together that I could but ended up having to cancel it till further notice.
This is where YOU come in!
An acquaintance turned friend, Adam (@bettersoma) has agreed to help spread the word of Dutchess’s story and hopefully raise the money needed to at least get her to the initial dental specialist and get a better understanding of her overall oral health and take it from there.
