SUPPORT CASA RESPETTTRANS

Casa Respetttrans is a space open to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Transvestite, Transexual, and Intersex (LGBTTTI) community with specific attention to trans womxn. Located in Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico. Established in 2012, the center opened specifically for persons living with HIV. They also opened their space to trans womxn who every day are surviving by engaging in sex work. 


Grecia Herrera is both a registered nurse and the director of Casa Respetttrans. She recently reported there are 72 people currently living and staying at Casa Respetttrans, 29 of them identify as trans womxn and 60% of them identifying as a member of the LGBTTTI community. There are also infants and children ages 1 to 14 and trans womxn between the ages of 18 and 60 years old.


From 2017 to present, Casa Respetttrans began opening its doors to migrants. Since 2017, Casa Respetttrans has been a safe-haven for more than 400 migrant trans womxn from various countries including Mexico, Ecuador, Peru, Cuba, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador and with attention to two trans womxn from Russia. 


Thus far, every trans womxn who has sought help and refuge in our shelter with the hope of securing political asylum in the United States has won their case. Except for five womxn who were later returned to Mexico for reasons of requesting their deportation. 


Casa Respetttrans also has evidence of two trans womxn that died in an attempt to seek political asylum. They died throughout the legal process due to negligence by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Casa Respetttrans wishes to respect the privacy and dignity of these trans womxn and has decided to not include their names in this petition. 


Unfortunately, we have also received calls from family members of lesbian, gay and transgender persons from their countries of origin who have disappeared,  died and or simply have no record of their whereabouts. 


Our primary objective and mission are to be a safe-haven and offer services to those most vulnerable, especially the migrant and LGBTTTI community. Casa Respetttrans would benefit from your support and generous donations of any amount to meet the rising demands of the shelter’s daily operations and maintenance upkeep and the variety of needs of persons temporarily sheltered at Casa Respetttrans. All contributions will be utilized to rehab the shelter and support daily operations and purchase personal care necessities (i.e., gender-affirming clothing for trans womxn, clothing for adults and children, diapers, powder milk, medications), grooming essentials (i.e., hair care, wigs, and make-up). Casa Respetttrans es un espacio abierto a la comunidad Lesbiana, Gay, Bisexual, Transgenero, Transveti, Tranxsexual, Intersexo (LGBTTTI) especialmente a la mujeres trans. Ubicado en Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico. Establecido en el 2012 donde se abrió específicamente para ser un centro para personxs viviendo con VIH. También se abrió nuestro espacio a mujeres trans que cada dia estan tratando de sobrevivir teniendo que involucrarse en trabajo sexual.


Grecia Herrera, directora de Casa Respetttrans y enfermera, reporta, recientemente hay 72 personas viviendo en Casa Respetttrans y de ellas un 60% son de la comunidad LGBTTTI  y 29 son mujeres trans  y el resto incluyen personas solteras y mujeres con niños. Tenemos bebés y niños entre 1 a 14 anos y mujeres trans entre las edades de 18 a 60 años.  


En el 2017 hacia el presente, la Casa Respetttrans empezó a abrir sus puertas a la comunidad migrante. Desde el 2017, Casa Respetttrans ha sido un refugio para más de 400 mujeres trans migrantes de varios países incluyendo México, Ecuador, Peru, Cuba, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador y atención a dos chicas trans de Rusia.  


Hasta el presente, cada mujer trans que ha pedido auxilio y refugio en nuestra casa con la esperanza de conseguir asilo político en los Estados Unidos (EE.UU.) lo han recibido, con la excepción de cinco de ellas que fueron regresadas a México por asunto de pedir su propia deportación. 

Tenemos evidencia que dos mujeres trans murieron en búsqueda de asilo político durante el proceso legal debido a la negligencia de ICE. Hemos decidido respetar la privacidad y su dignidad y no incluir sus nombres en esta petición. 


Desafortunadamente, también hemos recibido llamadas de familiares  de personas lesbiana, gay y trans de los países de origen quienes están desaparecidos, sus restos no han sido encontrados o simplemente no tenemos documentado su ubicación. 


Nuestro objetivo primordial y misión es ser un hogar de refugio y de servicios a la personas mas vulnerables especialmente la comunidad LGBTTTI y migrante. Casa Respetttrans podría beneficiar de su apoyo y donaciones generosa para cumplir las demanda de mantenimiento de las operaciones del hogar y las variedad de necesidades de todas las personxs que permanecen temporalmente en Casa Respetttrans. Todas las donaciones serán utilizadas para el mantenimiento y reparación de la casa y comprar paquetes de cuidado personal (p. ej.: ropa para mujeres trans, adultos y niños, pañales para bebés, leche de polvo, remedios y medicamentos, maquillaje, pelucas). Por favor considere contribuir para apoyar la misión y visión de Casa Respetttrans.
