Sequim Youth Skate Park Foundation

The Sequim Youth Skatepark Foundation was established in 2015 by the local skatepark community primarily who understand the need for a safe, healthy, and fun place the skatepark community of all ages can enjoy.

The current skatepark was constructed in 1998 through a combined effort of the local skate and bike community. Today that same community in addition to many more, are at it again to construct a dream park for the ever-growing local skatepark community. There is a devoted effort to ensure the park remodel/expansion occurs to correct some unfortunate hazards, which currently exist. Hazards like crowding, cracks and holes, and lame drainage, just to name a few, could cause unnecessary harm.

The proposed skatepark concept is pictured.  The white coloring is what is currently there that will be integrated into the new concept with slight remodeling and repaving. The rest of the concept photo depicts the expansion in the tan/yellow. Currently, riders use one set of unshaded metal bleachers for seating but unable to watch activity within the park as views are obstructed. The remodel with facilitate at least two shaded and unobstructed bench areas.

The future park will also enhance the surrounding features at Carrie Blake Park, to include the Olympic Mountains and rolling valley hills. On a daily basis the Sequim Skatepark is one of the most used features in Carrie Blake Park. The park is also frequented by professional riders as they travel through. The new park will surely intrigue riders from all over the globe. Local companies are stronger with a thriving skatepark community.
