Modified October 4th, 2019: Please, all of the updates are important but Update 6 has the best information about what is going on with the Ravindra property. Please read it if no other. Thank you. Yvette

For many of us, Munju and Kabir have been a constant and loyal friends, always with a positive attitudes and smiles that brightens the day. I have been blessed to know the Ravindras for nearly 40 years. Anyone who knows Munju or Kabir, likely also know  their incredible mom, Sally.

Sally is the mom that I wish I'd had and I am certain that I am not the only person who adores her. Her kindness and love know no bounds. Her sense of adventure and humor are always a breath of fresh air.  Her talent as a potter is unparalleled.

When Hurricane Dorian approached Halifax on September 6th, it was a Class 2 , when it hit land it was classified as  post-tropical cyclone.  That change in classification did little to buffer the devastation that would take on Halifax head on with with winds in excess of 100mph (160km/h).  Over 450 000 residents of Nova Scotia were left without power, numerous communities faced damage from tidal surges and Sally's beloved home was in the middle of it all.

Her home has lost the septic system.

Most of the retaining walls are gone.

There has been foundation damage to her home that will require the expertise of a structural engineer.

Insurance will cover NONE of the damage.

Nova Scotia is at the start of hurricane season and without help FAST, another storm hitting Purcell's Cove could very well mean a complete loss of her home, and not just her home but her studio which is her livelihood. As you can see from the pictures, the retaining walls are gone. There is little space left between her home and the ocean.

The following pictures show the damage as it happened during the cyclone... the retaining walls were destroyed, the septic system as it flooded, and the aftermath of the storm.

Sally has always occurred to me to have a strong constitution, grace under fire type of disposition and, unlikely to ask for help and I think this is one time in her life when she honestly needs all the help she can get.

I have created this campaign to help Sally pay for consultation fees, and hopefully help with the financial burden that rebuilding the retaining wall, septic system, structural damage and any other necessities she is facing. Who among us has the finances available to just take on this massive undertaking without help? Insurance isn't there for her. I know that it is a lot of money but there are so many of us and even the smallest donation would go so far in helping her.

Every single penny from this campaign will be directed to Sally to use as she needs to over-coming this devastation.

Here is the interview Sally conducted just days after the Cyclone where she talks about the extent of the damage done.
