Sam & Dan's 85 Mile Paddle

Something I had on my bucket list for this year was to raise money for charity. The issue was finding the right fundraising event. Dan found a challenge that will test us but also accommodate the two good eyes and three good knees between us!

Our goal is to take our kayaks down river, paddling 85 miles from Glasbury to Redbrook on the River Wye from the 24th-27th August 2023. It will be by far the furthest we have paddled and although difficult to judge due to the varied speed of water, expect it to take us over 40+ hours of hard rowing to complete.

We are raising money for Winston's Wish who support bereaved children and their families. As someone who lost his mum at a young age, this charity holds dear to my heart and although not a direct beneficiary of their support, the help Winston's Wish give to children when their world gets turned upside down is truly inspirational.

If you can donate, no matter how small it would be very much appreciated.

Do not fear, I am sure this trip will take its pound of flesh from both of us. Our future selves are already saying our shoulders hurt!
