Evacuate to Safety: A New Beginning for Sami's Family

Donation protected
Dear friends and supporters,

My name is Abed Elhai, and I am organizing this GoFundMe campaign on behalf of my brother Sami and our family in Gaza. As a press photographer in the heart of Gaza, Sami has captured the devastating impact of war through his lens, showcasing the destruction and despair that have become all too familiar to us and other families in this besieged enclave.

Our family, comprising 13 members, has suffered greatly from the recent Israeli airstrikes. Our homes have been destroyed, forcing us to live in a classroom within a public school alongside other displaced families. Among us are my three brothers, our grandmother, my uncle, his wife, and their six children, one of whom, Sameh, was born in this makeshift shelter during the conflict.

The war has not only demolished our neighborhood but has also inflicted deep emotional scars. Our children, traumatized by the violence, have traded their innocent laughter for tears of fear. The constant sound of sirens serves as a grim reminder of the peril we face daily.

As we stand amidst the ruins of what was once our home, the challenge of rebuilding seems insurmountable. The war has left us without food, water, and medicine, essentials that have become increasingly scarce due to the blockade on Gaza.

In these dark times, we hold onto hope for a future where peace prevails. We reach out to your generosity for support in evacuating our family from Gaza. With our family of 13, the initial goal is to cover these crossing costs, ensuring our safe passage to Egypt. Beyond this, additional funds will be instrumental in helping us establish our lives anew—securing accommodation, essential needs, and a foundation from which to rebuild.

Your support, no matter the size, is not merely a donation; it's a lifeline. It represents a chance for a fresh start and embodies the hope that propels us forward during these tumultuous times. Every contribution you make is a step towards turning the tide for us, guiding us towards safety and a new beginning.

We deeply appreciate any contribution you can make. Your support not only aids us practically but stands as a powerful symbol of kindness and humanity in these trying times.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any assistance you can provide. Together, we believe we can overcome this adversity and emerge stronger.

With gratitude,

Alsultan family
