Sato – A Puerto Rican slang term referring to a stray dog.
Eleventh Hour Rescue Saves the Satos!
Back in October four Eleventh Hour Rescue staff members traveled to Puerto Rico to adventure through the island to save some of the thousands of stray dogs. Throughout the week the team saved over 30 dogs off the streets. This included one special group of puppies that were found on Playa Lucia, otherwise known as "Dead Dog Beach." The beach is a common dumping ground for unwanted pets. A litter of seven puppies were left on their own to die.
Luckily the team was able to give them the food, water, medical attention, and love they needed.
After saving the litter and countless other lives from the Island, all the pups were sent on a plane up to the states and found their forever homes.
This new year we are asking for your help! Our team is heading back in February for our third trip within 4 months. We need help to continue the work we love to do and Save the Satos!
In order to bring back more pups from Puerto Rico we need to fly them up to NJ. We have volunteers on the ground in Puerto Rico that will help safely load the dogs and EHR will be there to pick them up upon landing. We are looking for sponsors to get them back to Eleventh Hour! We hope to bring home 20 crates full of dogs and each crate is $125. This covers their flight from San Juan Airport to Newark Airport.
Can't Sponsor the full amount of a crate? That's okay! Any donation value is wonderful! All donations will be put toward the dogs flights, needed medical attention, and supplies to care for the dogs.
