Donations for Doug’s Life-Saving Dental Surgery

*UPDATE
7/29 Called the wheat ridge veterinary Hospital and scheduled Doug’s dental surgery. The Soonest dental surgery appointment we got was for September 19 at 7 AM. We are on the call list for if someone cancels, so we can get a sooner appointment.
Doug has a general practice appointment tomorrow, July 30 at 2 PM. The doctor will be addressing the blood in his stool and the infection in his mouth. He needs to be healthier before he can be put on anesthesia to get his dental surgery. This is a safety precaution.

My name is Rachel, and I’m Doug Funny’s mom. Doug is in need of URGENT dental care! The ER vet explained his teeth and gums are seriously infected. This requires immediate attention so no blood infection occurs and kills him. It’s been over a year since the diagnosis and I came home to him drooling out his left side and favoring his head tilting to the side. He’s lethargic and I’m scared I’m about to lose him any day.

As a Server who lives paycheck to paycheck, I can’t afford this dental procedure. I have secured a $800 paycheck. Quoted $2400 from my vet, Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital. They sent me home with a list of low-cost, local vet clinics that can help people in financial difficulty. (Yes, I do have a care credit card but it’s maxed out from losing my two senior dogs 2 years ago.) I have bad credit.

I feel pathetic that I’m asking strangers to help me help my dog, but I see no other way of getting this procedure done by next week without help. He is my world. I’ve tried to find a decent paying job for the last 2 years to no avail. I love my dog more than any human alive. He loves me and I would do everything for him. He is my everything. I’m just in a hard place financially. I’m living with a friend so we aren't experiencing homelessness. Please help me save my dog.

Doug very recently came from a $400 ER visit where he ruptured an anal gland. If we hadn’t gone to my vet's ER, we wouldn’t have known how bad his teeth have gotten or how serious the problem is.

After reaching out to many low-cost clinics over the past few months, it's still going to cost upwards of $1600. I can get him scheduled in for 2-3 months out with the animal clinic. That’s too late.

Anything helps. If I have the money sooner, I can schedule the surgery sooner!
