Help Save Loki Lesko

Hello Beautiful People,
I never imagined I’d be in this position, but I am reaching out in desperation to save our sweet 2-year-old Siberian Husky, Loki.
Loki came into our lives in the most unexpected and beautiful way. On New Year’s Eve of 2023, while working a late shift, my boss brought in a tiny 3-week-old Husky puppy with his eyes barely open. The moment I saw him, I knew he was meant to be part of our family. That night, I bottle-fed him, fell in love, and by 2 AM, I was sneaking him into our already full house—my husband, our three young kids (ages 2, 4, and 6), and me, in the middle of moving from Connecticut to New York. It was chaotic, but every fiber of my being told me Loki was meant to be ours. Loki is now my certified service dog.
Fast forward to March 17th—Loki suddenly became very sick. He started violently vomiting, refusing food and water, and couldn’t even go on our usual walks. He declined rapidly, and I rushed him to Saw Mill Veterinary Care, where he was diagnosed with Lyme disease. We started treatment with doxycycline, fluids, and anti-nausea meds, but he only got worse. He stopped eating entirely, and the vomiting turned into nonstop perforating every two minutes. I knew something else was wrong.
This morning, I rushed Loki to the Guardian Veterinary Emergency Room. After an evaluation, the incredible team discovered he has a severe intestinal obstruction that requires emergency surgery—without it, he won’t make it.
The estimated cost for Loki’s life-saving surgery is between $8,253.69- $12,888.07 , depending on possible complications. In order to secure the surgery, we need to make a down payment of just over $9,000. I applied for CareCredit but was unfortunately denied, leaving us with no financial backup.
I have explored every possible option, including Vet Payment Plans—many clinics offer in-house financing, but we haven’t been able to secure one. Animal Rescues & Charities—I have reached out to organizations. Thankfully, I was able to start the process with an organization called Guardian HEALS (Humans Enriching Animals' Lives). If approved, they will help out with 30% of the total bill. Lastly, Community Support—we are sharing Loki’s story in every way possible, hoping for kindhearted individuals to help.
At this point, I cannot give up on Loki—not when he has so much life left to live and so much love to give. My children, Audrianna, Aria, and Preston, are devastated, and our hearts are breaking at the thought of losing him way to soon.
I am humbly asking for any help you can give. Every single dollar counts, and even if you can’t donate, sharing & likeing this fundraiser would mean the world to us.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading, donating, or simply keeping Loki in your thoughts and prayers. We are so grateful for your support.
With pure love and appreciate,
