Help Abboud and Eleen’s family survive winter in Gaza
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Selma and I am from the UK. I am helping my friend Abboud in Gaza raise desperately needed funds so that he and his family can reach safety in Egypt when the crossing reopens.
Please meet Abboud Abu Salem, aged 21. He was studying community rehabilitation at university (treating children with special needs) and looking forward to a fulfilling career and future, but his education and life as he knew it came to an abrupt halt in October 2023. His father's factory, which sewed beautiful Palestinian embroidery, was lost, and his sister and her little children were killed by occupation forces.
The Abu Salem family has nothing left in Gaza and they are desperate to rebuild their lives and escape the suffering and hardships of constant danger, displacement and hunger. Their goal is to raise the equivalent of $5000 per person for the following family members to cross into Egypt when the Rafah crossing reopens:
Abboud, whose full name is Abdel Hafeez Abu Salem (21)
His Mum, Samar Ibrahim Al-Sammak (49)
His Dad, Jaafar Abdel Hafeez Abu Salem (55)
His sister, Batoul Jaafar Abu Salem (23)
His younger sister, Maram Jaafar Abu Salem (19)
His brother, Adam Abu Salem (35)
His sister-in-law, Bayan Abu Salem (29)
His niece, Eleen Abu Salem (5)
His nephew, Jamal Abu Salem (2)
Funds raised may also be used for essential living expenses, such as:
Food
Water
Medication
Medical Treatment
Emergency Shelter
Travel Costs if Displaced Again
Other basic requirements (shoes, clothing, bedding etc.)
I will transfer all funds raised from the UK to Abboud's trusted friend in the UAE, Farouk Abu Salem, who will in turn ensure that Abboud receives them in Gaza. From there, he and his family will use the services of Ya Hala to evacuate.
Look at our suffering with displacement and escaping death!
