Help Save Elite German Shepherds
Donation protected
Disaster struck on March 18th, 2022. The kennels burned, the pet store went up in smoke, the grooming room became ashes and the office became cinders. All of the dogs were immediately rescued and none sustained any injury from the fire or smoke because we are always prepared for any scenario, even in state of the art buildings like this one. That being said, rehousing our dogs at our secondary site is not a permanent solution.
Cindy Hiemenz has dedicated her life to the husbandry of German Shepherd Dogs and Friesian Horses. Her breedership, located just outside of Luling, TX, is world renowned for the incredible animals it has produced.
Cindy dedicated her life to the preservation of Elite GSD’s for 35 years. Her passion for these beautiful, smart and hardworking companions is well known. A multiple time Sieger Show #1 winner, Cindy has owned and does own some of the best German Shepherds in the world.
She has never failed to bring joy and happiness to children and their families through the dogs she provides as well the generous donation of time she sets aside to help new dog owners complete obedience training.
While repairs have already begun, they are very costly. We are contributing everything that we can, but won’t be able to pay for it fully.
Please help us repair these facilities and continue Cindy’s legacy.
Thank you for your kind consideration,
The Elite German Shepherd Team
From local media and fire department:
On 3/19/22, just before 2PM, MCFR was alerted to a structure fire on S US HWY 183. Arriving units discovered heavy smoke coming from 1 story commercial structure. It was then learned that there were animals inside and there were active animal rescues happening during arrival of first due engine. Initially it was thought that there were some dogs unaccounted for, crews went to work making entry, locating and extinguishing the fire, and searching for missing dogs. Thankfully a recount turned up no missing dogs. Huge shout-out to the passers by that notified the owners of the fire, and assisted in rescuing the dogs. Also thank you to our mutual aid partners at Luling Volunteer Fire Department, and Lockhart Fire Department. And continuing gratitude for the Caldwell County Office of Emergency Management for the assistance, and City of Luling EMS for standing by and making sure our firefighters were safe and healthy. No injuries or deaths reported, 2 legged or 4 legged. Great job to all of the agencies involved. Pictures courtesy of Captain Jerry Doyle with MCFR, and Paramedic Wendy Wiley with Luling EMS.
