Jynx's Laryngeal Paralysis Surgery
Donation protected
I am setting this up on behalf of a dear friend who previously has helped many dogs and owners. Her Rhodesian Ridgeback Jynx has just started struggling to breath but still has lots of life and fun in her and is otherwise healthy, always greeting everyone with a wag and a kiss, she is the sweetest happiest girl and loves life. Her recent scans show she has Laryngeal Paralysis and an operation can fix this but is a heavy finacial burden for her owner at £2-4000. Nobody should feel forced with the unquestionable due to lack of funds. Let's give her a chance with life saving surgery. Her family want her happy and well.
What is laryngeal paralysis?
Laryngeal paralysis is a disorder in which the nerves that control the muscles and cartilage that open and close the larynx (voicebox) do not function properly, causing voice changes and difficulty with eating or breathing. The larynx is located in the back of the throat. Air moves from the mouth or nose through the larynx, and into the trachea (windpipe). Normally, the laryngeal cartilages (also known as the arytenoid cartilages) are pulled open during breathing. In laryngeal paralysis, these cartilages do not open and close properly, making it difficult for the animal to take in air normally. An operation can fix it.
If you can spare something to help Jynx we would be forever Grateful. Without your help she cannot have this operation.
