Sativa the Skate Dog's Surgeries

Sativa is a 2 year old Pocket American Bulldog that loves every person and pup that she meets. She loves to chase anything thing that moves fast, which is how she developed her skateboard skills. If you live in the Chicagoland area, you probably have seen this dog in a bowl or half pipe somewhere. And when she is not doing that, she is busy doing dog things like chasing water from the hose, playing fetch, or loafing around the house.

A few months ago Sativa started limping on her hind foot. X-rays revealed that she has hip dysplasia in both her hips and also a torn cruciate ligament in the same hind leg where the dysplasia is most dominant. She will need multiple surgeries to relieve her of the pain that she's in. She does not like to put pressure on that paw and has been on pain medications ever since.

She will have to undergo 3 surgeries in total: the main surgery will be her left hip which is scheduled for January 25th at the University of Madison Veterinary Hospital where she is seeing an orthopedic surgeon. This first surgery will cost around $4,400. The other 2 surgeries are yet to be discussed on pricing.

The goal is to raise the $4,400 by January 20th. This will buy some time to plan financially for the next 2 surgeries that she will need. This includes a surgery to correct the torn cruciate ligament (knee surgery) and then the other hip will require hip dysplasia surgery as well.

Sativa (Sadie) is one of the sweetest dogs I've ever encountered and most people will say the same thing. I adopted her more than a year ago and was in love with her long before then. I will be grateful for any and all donations and contributions. This dog once saved my life while I was going through some tough times and now it is my turn to try and save hers.
