Customs & Border Officer Family fund-Otis Sawyers

With permission from Otis' wife Stephanie, we have set up this fund to assist Otis' family. All proceeds go directly to Stephanie and Alexis.

We come before you today with heavy hearts to share the devastating news of the passing of a courageous Border Patrol Officer and esteemed veteran - who valiantly fought against cancer. It is with immense sadness that we inform you of his untimely demise, leaving behind his wife Stephanie, his young daughter Alexis, his mother Beryl, and siblings: Sharon, Andrea and O'Neil.

Officer Sawyers served our nation with unwavering dedication, safeguarding our borders and upholding the values we hold dear. His unwavering commitment to duty and his country led him through years of selfless service, placing himself in harm's way to ensure the safety and security of our communities. Despite the immense physical and emotional challenges he faced, Officer Sawyers never wavered in his commitment to his family and his fellow citizens. Throughout his life, Officer Sawyers exemplified bravery, honor, and resilience. From his days in the military, defending our freedoms, to his tireless efforts on the border, protecting our nation's integrity, he embodied the true spirit of a hero.

Now, as we mourn his loss, we cannot forget the difficult road that lies ahead for his grieving wife Stephanie and young daughter Alexis. In addition to the profound emotional loss they endure, they must also navigate the financial burdens that come with such a tragic event. As a community, it is our responsibility to rally around them and provide the support they need during this difficult time.

We have established this GoFundMe campaign to help alleviate the financial strain faced by Officer Otis Sawyer's family. The funds raised will go directly towards covering funeral expenses, providing ongoing support for his wife and child, and easing the burden of any outstanding medical bills and loss of income.

Addendum:

It has come to light of other medical costs not known at the time will increase the burden. The fast rate of which the cancer consumed his body exasperated this issue. The shock of his condition just one month ago had barely begun to set in when he passed. Please find it in your hearts to share as far as possible. The family greatly appreciates everyone for the support. This is one burden we can pull together to help ease for them.
