Partner with Us to Celebrate Scandia History
Donation protected
Scandia Heritage Alliance invites you to be part of Scandia’s legacy — to partner with us in creating programs that preserve and celebrate Scandia's history, arts, culture, and rural character. Your contribution supports creation of the WATER TOWER BARN SCANDIA arts and heritage center, the Scandia Heritage Trail, and our Scandia History Series programs.
Thanks to the generosity of our community, Scandia residents and friends had more ways to connect and reasons to celebrate in 2023. Here’s what we accomplished together:
- Secured $2.2 million in legislative funding to reconstruct the WATER TOWER BARN SCANDIA arts and heritage center – roughly half the funding needed;
- Brought Scandia’s history into the present with a Scandia Heritage Trail Map, free for the public;
- Celebrated Walter Mondale’s love of Scandia and the St. Croix River with a sold-out dinner cruise of 135 attendees;
- Heard Ojibwe perspectives and songs during Gammelgården Museum's Spelmansstämman event;
- Made new friends and strengthened community connections during the Progressive Dinner.
The vast majority of SHA's work is accomplished by a wide network of volunteers - meaning that your contribution supports our programs rather than salaries. Our board and committee members develop programs, write grant applications, plan events, and do planning work for the arts and heritage center.
