Meet Scarlett, she is the strongest person I know. This 3 year old has a life that revolves around Doctors, hospitals, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. Yet she smiles through it all, says thank you to everyone (even people who poke her and cause pain), and is over all happy and amazing though it all. Scarlett wants to meet Belle from Beauty and the Beast, and we want so badly to take our hard working leap year baby to Disenyland for her 1st (4th) birthday on Febuary 29.
When Scarlett was born we thought she was a happy health baby, but by 3 months she was diagnosed with failure to thrive. After a long hard road it's now believed Scarlett had a stroke while still in utero, causing her many life long struggles. Scarlett's Daddy, Sean has picked up a second job to help fund the expense of Scarlett's medical care and therapy, while I (Scarlett's Mommy) have had the challenge of navigating the medical system with hospital trips ranging from 1- 4 a week often with 2+ appointments a day. We have gotten through so much as a family and so badly need a break. New AFO, she can now walk without pain, stumbling, and falling. Scarlett wears an AFO on her right leg due to weak muscle tone on her right side, making walk and many other things very hard for her.
