SCHITT’S CREEK GIVES BACK

The coronavirus pandemic has impacted us all. During this unprecedented crisis, so many are focused on family, health, and security, while many of our neighbors are worrying about their family's meals.

The cast of Schitt's Creek wants to help show our neighbors the same kind of generosity and goodwill that our fans have shown us over the last six years. So over the next week, we're hoping to spread some joy while raising as much as possible for two organizations that have long been dedicated to helping those in need: Food Banks Canada and Feeding America.

As the demand for food increases, food donations have decreased and volunteer shortages have increased costs. Food banks are under more pressure to ensure the vulnerable are still receiving vital food support. The only way to get through this is together.

What we're asking:

Every day at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET for the next week, different Schitt's Creek cast members will be going live on their personal Instagram pages in hopes of providing some brief entertainment and practicing social distancing while raising funds for these two worthy organizations. Whether you're wanting to donate directly to help those in need, or if you simply just need a brief source of joy in your day, we invite you to tune in!

We will be posting details and tune-in directions for each day's Instagram Live on our socials the morning of.

Your donation will go to GoFundMe.org and will be evenly distributed between Food Banks Canada and Feeding America. Food Banks Canada and Feeding America will distribute the donations to their networks of food banks across the US and Canada that provide hunger relief to those most directly affected.

Food Banks Canada

Food Banks Canada is a national charitable organization dedicated to helping Canadians living with food insecurity. They support a network of Provincial Associations, affiliate food banks, and food agencies that work at the community level to relieve hunger. Their work is focused on maximizing collective impact, strengthening local capacity, and reducing the need for food banks.

Feeding America

Feeding America is a registered 501c3 nonprofit and the United States’ largest domestic hunger-relief organization—a powerful and efficient network of 200 food banks across the country. As food insecurity rates hold steady at the highest levels ever, the Feeding America network of food banks has risen to meet the need, especially in this time of crisis. They feed 40 million people at risk of hunger, including 12 million children and 7 million seniors on a regular basis.
