Help send ATCA students to Boston!

My name is Denise Rendon, known to my students as simply 'Rendon', and I am Blessed to work at the Academies of Education and Empowerment (AEE) at Carson HS.
At AEE we have a career pathway called the Accelereated Teaching Career Academy (ATCA) that approximately 200 students are a part of. In this pathway, students take courses in Child Development, Child Psychology, and Careers with Children. They serve as tutors and interns at local elementary and preschools within the community, as well as develop projects that are focused on careers with children.
For the past three years my junior and senior students have organized a student-lead project called "Mock High School". They "adopt" a 5th grade classroom from a local elementary school and make them "AEE Students for a Day". They teach them lessons in all core subjects as well as PE and Art. The purpose of the project is to give 5th graders the opportunity to experience the changes that occur between elementary school and middle school, ease their fears on having to take multiple classes with different teachers, and speak to them on the importance of maintaining good grades. In return, my high school students receive hands-on experience teaching lessons that they have developed in their ATCA career pathway classes.
This year the "MOCK HIGH SCHOOL" project was recognized by a national organization called Educators Rising. The organization has invited ten of my students to attend the 2016 Educators Rising National Conference in Boston, MA. in June. Our Carson kids were asked to present to students and educators around the nation on their student-lead project happening right here at AEE, focusing on the benefits it has on the community as well as the valuable experience that they received from it.
In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, I am asking for your help to support my FAB 10, well deserving students! I am trying to get all 10 students to that conference where they will receive an opportunity of a lifetime!! I need to buy airline tickets as well as fees associated with their lodging accommodations at Boston University.
I have the month of May to raise $10,000 and I really need your help. With all of the negativity that surrounds our youth today and with media shining the light on everything that is wrong with this generation, it is extremely important that we, as a community, step up and support students who are making a positive impact in the city of Carson. This is an amazing opportunity and I am confident that we can pull together as a community and make this happen for these well deserving Carson Kids.
