Will Shave For Food

Hello, my name is Joe Cornelisse...I am a Single Father and I have a beard, I have a crazy big white beard that I’ve been growing now for over 15 years or so, it’s become a part of me and who I am.

Recently I read that Orillia’s The Sharing Place Food Centre has been forced to cancel their largest annual fundraiser, the Mac and Cheese Luncheon, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This is a huge event for them; it usually brings in around 30 thousand dollars to help with the centre.

I don’t mind making known that in the past I’ve had to make use of their food bank services for me and my son, people need to realize that most of them are just a paycheck away from using their services.

Since this news broke I have been wracking my brain thinking of ways I could help them, then the lightbulb went off...my BEARD! Why not start a fundraiser asking people and businesses to donate money to benefit The Sharing Place Food Centre...and when we reach the goal of $1000.00 (The goal was changed to $6000) I will shave my beard off (completely) live on Facebook.
