2023 Shelter Rehabilitation and Operations Fund

Tax deductible
Would you like to make a huge difference in the life of a stray dog? Please join us. We are Amigos de Los Animales and we promise your donation will make a huge impact in the lives of every dog and person here.

Amigos de Los Animales (ADLA) is a 501c3 and PR 1101 nonprofit acting as a voice for abused and abandoned animals in Puerto Rico. We operate a small no-kill dog shelter in a poor neighbourhood in Piñones, Loiza. We rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home hundreds of abandoned and abused dogs every year. Our dogs are adopted here on the island as well as in the states where we share them with our no-kill shelter partners and foster networks. ADLA also collaborates with our local communities to instil respect and teach proper care for all animals. Donor-supported and all volunteer-run, we operate entirely on your private contributions and in-kind donations.

We plan to update and rehabilitate our shelter so that all the animals and people who come here, experience the quality of our work in safe surroundings. We also plan to use these funds to step up our operations in terms of paying vets, and staff, purchase of food and medications plus some inventory for our resident pups all included as general operational costs. Our shelter is housed in a converted residential/commercial home built-in 1954 which we own. Our community needs us here which is why we do not move to a different facility in another area. There are so many things to fix though!
