Shira Baron's Bat Mitzvah Project!

When I was 7 years old, I was diagnosed with an Autoimmune Thyroid Disease. While I am fortunate to have a treatable condition, it is not always easy. Over the last 5 years I have had a lot of medical tests, blood draws, and trials on various medication doses. Our Thyroid controls our body's metabolism, so when my Thyroid is not working, I have issues with growth, I cannot gain weight, I am very tired and I often get irritable. I hope that someday people will not have to live with Thyroid problems.
