Back Samir's Film: Guess Who's Coming To Shiva
Donation protected
Hi I'm Samir!
Thanks for visiting. I'm producing a short film about what it would be like for an anxiety-ridden Palestinian whose Jewish girlfriend asks him to accompany her to her Bubbe's shiva. The short film will explore, in a funny and scary way, what it's like for an anti-zionist couple to be in community with a zionist family. Think Get Out meets Shiva Baby, with a dash of Guess Who's Coming To Dinner.
I’m Samir, a storyteller and Comms professional living in DC for the past two years with my Jewish, anti-zionist, social working partner, who co-wrote the short with me!
I’m a storyteller with experience creating narrative films, sketch comedy, documentary work, and digital & social media content. Most recently, I helped organize the DC Palestinian Film & Arts Festival.
I'm asking help to finance the short film because to pay the cast and crew a fair and equitable wage and to rent a professional camera, lens, and light package estimates between $20,000 to $30,000 for a 2-3 day shoot.
So please, if you believe that Palestinian stories need to be told, then please consider donating to our short film. And please share this link with your family and friends. Help us push our narrative forward!
