Sigora's Harvey Relief Effort
Donation protected
Sigora Solar is helping Hurricane Harvey victims by collecting supplies at our offices and accepting monetary donations. Sigora pledges to donate at least $20,000...more with your help.
DETAILS BELOW
Like the rest of the country, Sigora Solar team members are shocked and saddened by the devastation of Hurricane Harvey. As a result, Sigora will do our part and lend a helping hand to our fellow citizens in need.
Yes, we are a solar installation company located halfway across the country, but disaster relief is not foreign to Sigora. Last year, we made significant donations for remote Haitian communities devastated by Hurricane Matthew. At Sigora, we make all decisions based on our commitment to our core values. When help is needed, and we are able to assist, we step up.
The overwhelming need in Texas begs the question: what can we do with our resources, and the caring and kindness of the public? Obviously, we are not first responders, and in that light, our efforts will focus on assisting families and individuals in their recovery and return to normalcy.
We are asking the public to donate to this Go Fund Me campaign. In addition, we will accept donations at our offices in Richmond, Charlottesville, Waynesboro and Manassas weekdays between 9am-4pm. Items that are most in need are water, non-perishable foods, cleaning supplies, baby goods (baby food, formula, diapers, baby bottles, etc.), gift cards for clothing and other home supplies (for stores like Target, Walmart, Ikea, etc.). We will transport these items in our vehicles and put them in the hands of local Houston organizations to be distributed properly. Depending on the reception of this effort, we will gauge the number of trips accordingly and keep everyone up to date.
To supplement the donation of items, we as a company will contribute a minimum of $20,000. The funds collected through this effort will be earmarked for larger items such as beds, appliances, and construction materials to assist with some of the heavier lifting relief efforts.
As a company, in the month of September, Sigora Solar will donate $500 FROM THE SALE OF each RESIDENTIAL SOLAR SYSTEM and $1,500 FROM THE SALE OF each COMMERCIAL SOLAR SYSTEM. Again, our minimum contribution will be $20,000.
We believe our goal of $100,000 is attainable, and paired with the items donated through our drop-off locations, we will make a positive impact on relief efforts.
Our thoughts are with all those affected by Hurricane Harvey. We wish them strength and safety in the difficult days ahead.
