Building Micro Shelters for the Homeless
Donation protected
For those of us who live in large urban settings like San Jose, we see the rapid increase in homelessness around us. With this awareness comes a wide range of confronting emotions, leaving most of us with a lot of questions.

See our growing community of citizens who are coming together to alter what is possible and contribute to those living on the streets who desire safety and shelter. We are achieving this through the construction of our Micro Shelters. For over six months now, we have sheltered people in need, and we have learned the incredible difference that these shelters can make in our communities. We invite you to contribute here and make a real difference for those in need.
To date, we have built seven Micro Shelters and we are nearing completion of two more units. The last fundraising round raised $9200! Much thanks to those who helped out! Now we're looking at building a total of 20 shelters! At ~$1000 per home we need $20,000 + tax in materials alone. Many of us have been paying for materials and meals for our build days, not including tools and such. Please consider supporting us in this effort. :) What your donation would make possible, is the offering of shelters that provide shelter from the elements and safety to the folks living with nothing. These structures are beautiful, while being more environmental than tents and tattered tarps. Perhaps more importantly is that you offer a chance for folks to 'come up', with a sense of dignity and peace of mind in an often chaotic and dangerous environment.
OTHER WAYS THAT YOU CAN HELP:
1) Spread the word. Let friends, family, and colleagues know what we're up to.
2) Come join us during our build days and learn how to construct the shelters.
3) In addition to monetary donations, we can also use tools and supplies.
Thanks for your consideration,
Jason and team!
