Skydive for 25 years of Type 1 Diabetes

This week marks my 25th Anniversary of being a Type 1 Diabetic, and I am doing a skydive to raise well needed funds for Diabetes UK.

1 in 10 people in the UK who have diabetes have Type 1, and like myself, most are diagnosed in childhood. There is nothing you can do to prevent developing type 1 and unfortunately the exact causes are still unknown. This is why research and awareness are vital.

Diabetes UK do unmeasurable work to try find a cure for this disease, with over £66 million invested in the last decade alone. Me and millions of others are hopeful that the dream of a cure will become a reality in our lifetimes.

Not only do Diabetes UK work tirelessly for a cure, they also provide much needed support for everyone affected by Diabetes. Diabetes is more than a physical illness, it affects our mental health just as much. So the resources Diabetes UK provide are crucial to so many.

Please donate if you can, but more importantly I encourage you to educate yourself on this life changing disease. Awareness is also key to finding a cure. :)

We are Diabetes UK. Our vision is a world where diabetes can do no harm.
