Solidarity Strollers

Donation protected
Since the Spring of 2022, New York City has received an influx of asylum seekers. This is primarily due to unfortunate political stunts from Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who use humans as pawns for political gains, a stint resembling the reverse freedom rides of the 1960s.

Mutual Aid groups, faith organizations, and NGOs have been working overtime to meet the needs of our thousands of new neighbors.

I've focused on learning from the Mutual Aid Center at Judson Memorial Church, which, under the direction of the phenomenal social worker Mariposa and Rev Micah, serves as a central hub for asylum-seeking individuals and families in all 5 boroughs. Here asylum seekers are centered and lead, resource one another, share skills, and are offered emotional support, connected to long-term free mental health resources, signed up for medical insurance, are assisted with school enrollment, attend legal workshops, receive basic necessities, and commune with food and activity.

However, there is an ongoing outstanding need for strollers.
The mutual aid center has a waiting list of 40+ for strollers (everyone on the list received a stroller thanks to YOU but new requests come weekly as new migrants arrive and babies are born )

In a city like New York, your stroller is your car. It's your lifeline for work, leisure, and everything in between. It's not an accessory; it's a basic need.
All people deserve to have their basic needs met.

If you're in the New York area and have access to parenting/caregiver/Buy Nothing/Mom groups and/or have a stroller you're ready to part with, click here for details on getting that stroller to the right place.

If you're outside New York and/or cannot access excess strollers, you are welcome to support this effort by donating here. You may want to pick out a stroller and ship it directly to the site; however, the church is not set up to receive or store them. Donating here is the most efficient way to help.

As money comes in, I'll coordinate with Mariposa to shop, pick up, and deliver strollers at times they can receive and distribute. I promise full transparency on how funds are used. If we raise more money than there is a need for strollers, surplus funds will be used to purchase diapers, another ongoing need. Consider giving $20.00.

Whatever you donate, from $5.00 to $50.00, helps tremendously.

Thank you for your support for Solidary Strollers - feel free to share so together we can get these babies on wheels!
