Help Sonya Fifer With Medical Care and Expenses
Donation protected
Sonya Fifer desperately needs our help, as she’s fighting for her life while still providing for her son.
Her battle started in April of 2021 with what seemed like a simple allergic reaction. At the time, no one imagined it would cause Sonya to desperately fight for her life.
In June 2022, doctors diagnosed Sonya with the debilitating onset of Lymphedema. She has wounds on her legs that won’t heal and is fighting a resistant bacterium. The infection is now spreading again. She’s running out of options as her financial and medical situation becomes even more critical.
Sonya is now homebound, in excruciating pain, and has limited mobility. Her life depends on regular wound care, but she is unable to get to those appointments without specialized transportation. This once independent woman is now unable to drive, cook, clean, or work to provide for her son.
Medicaid is not designed to address all these critical needs, so she needs money for essential medications that are not covered, specialized transportation, and regular household expenses.
No contribution of time, talent, knowledge, encouragement, or funding is too big or too small. Anything will help and be greatly appreciated!
A few of her most urgent needs are:
- A bariatric walker (Aquired!)
- A sleep recliner or accessible bed
- A handicap-accessible vehicle
- Reliable transportation services to medical appointments
- An infectious disease specialist
- A social worker to help arrange access to available resources
- Money to cover regular household expenses and medication
- Mobility equipment (She has been blessed with a scooter)
- Home modifications to help her get around inside her home.
Please find it in your heart to donate what you can and share Sonya's story on your social media platforms, in your churches, and in your social circles.
Thank you for helping our sister in her time of need!
