One passion...One dream...
That’s how Sophia Hoyos feels about dance!
Sophia started dancing when she was only 4 years old. She is a company member at SJ Dance Company, under the direction of Katerina San Juan. Sophia has been a competitive dancer since she was 8 years old. She has won numerous awards and scholarships during her years competing. This past summer in Las Vegas, she won the National Title, The Teen Maximum Velocity Artist, at Velocity Dance Convention, among over 100 dancers from across the nation. With this win comes the opportunity to tour with Velocity and dance with, assist, and learn from, very well renowned choreographers. These choreographers have worked with and/or have performed with artists such as Rihanna, Justin Timberlake, Justin Bieber, Black Eyed Peas, Beyoncé, Alicia Keys, Selena Gomez, Katy Perry, Kylie Minogue, Janet Jackson, J Lo... to name a few. Two of these choreographers just returned from J Lo’s “All I Have” tour, one as a choreographer for the tour and the other as one of J Lo’s back up dancers.
Touring with Velocity is a once in a lifetime opportunity and an amazing experience, which will help open doors for Sophia’s future, as she continues to follow her dream.
